IJo is an affiliated trainer for the British Alpaca society authorised to deliver their approved training material for the Introduction to alpacas course and also a BAS Judge. We started breeding alpacas in 2012 and really enjoy sharing our experience and what we have learnt along the way. We hold various courses for people new to alpacas or have a few alpacas and want to know more ( introduction to alpacas course ) or for owners (Practical alpaca course, Breeding and Birthing , Fleece assessment , advanced alpaca assessment etc)
We assist you to find accommodation locally and also Bed and Breakfast here at the farm. We are offering course dates for 2021 and will be adding further courses in the next few months.
The BAS introduction to alpaca course is split into two day workshops. you can attend either one or both workshops and we give a discount for more that one person from a farm /couples.
You will learn all you need to know about keeping alpacas with both practical and theory presentation which are in small friendly groups. Ongoing support is always offered after the course and a comprehensive handout and a certificate of completion is given at the end of the course . Refreshments are provided throughout the day and a hot lunch is also provided. COVID safe precautions are in place throughout the day.
