Jo , Scott and team would like to welcome you to the Hilly Ridge Alpacas website. We are alpaca breeders in Suffolk and are based near Wattisham Suffolk.
Our alpaca adventure began in 2012 with three pregnant girls, we now have a average herd of fifty alpacas. We have a mixture of colours and aim to breed friendly happy alpacas, to improve the genetics of the herd, to help other breeders and new owners and also show visitors to the farm how calming and happy they can make people
Jo is now a qualified British Alpaca Society Judge and is happy to assist in advising you with advice on the best alpacas for you and how to improve your herd
We offer Champion and Supreme Champion stud males to those looking at improving their genetics. We are happy to talk about how our stud males could improve your herd. We also offer males and females for sale for starter herds, flock, guardians or for the show ring !. Please give us a call if you do not see what you are looking for as not all our alpacas are advertised for sale.
We are also keen to offer help and advice to anyone on starter herds and pride ourselves that all our customers are now firm friends and join our network of support and general alpaca chat. We always say “There is never a question, too silly to ask ! “
We operate strict Bio-security at our yard for the protection of our Alpacas to insure their health.Visitors to the farm are welcome to visit us but please phone first to arrange a suitable time and day. Meet The Team!
Owner and self-confessed Alpacaholic…
I started Hilly Ridge Alpacas with Scott in 2012 and wanted to know as much as I could about these wonderful animals.
I am now a British Alpaca Society approved Judge
I enjoy sharing what I have learnt with course on everything form fleece to spinning. Sharing with others and selecting alpaca starter herds.
Meeting visitors to the farm for alpaca experiences and taking the alpacas out to care homes and weddings
Liam is an essential part of this small team. Liam joined us after coming along as part of a project called the Inspire Project. We were so impressed with Liam that we offered him a place as part of the team.
Liam has completed courses in Alpaca management and also birthing courses with Claire Whitehead Camelid veterinary specialist and has put it to good use this birthing season.
Harry came to work with us as a volunteer from college where he is still studying to work with animals. Harry was offered a emplyement as part of the team and now leads out alpaca walks on a saturday with Jo and works alongside Pam and the other staff members. He has completed an alpaca introdtion and birthing course here at Hilly Ridge Alpacas
Pam joined the team quite a few years ago and runs our alpaca experiences on a Sunday and is mad enough to do this along another full time job !. Pams favourite alpaca was Obama Llama until he retired in 2023 — hmmm which one is her favourite now ?
Kim also joined our team a few years ago now and leads the alpaca experiences on a Thursday and Friday mornings.
